The spring clean-up clears winter debris, cuts back what needs cutting, re-edges every bed and refreshes mulch so the season starts from a clean line. The fall clean-up gets leaves and debris off the turf before they mat down and smother it through the winter.

Fall is the one people underestimate. A layer of wet leaves left over a lawn through a Long Island winter kills the turf underneath and invites snow mould, and it is far cheaper to clear them twice in November than to reseed in April. We do multiple passes as the leaves actually fall rather than one visit that leaves half the job on the ground, and everything is hauled off — never blown into the neighbor's hedge.
